MWAA, MarketPlace, and Pepsi Partnership:

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, MWAA, MarketPlace Development and Pepsi banded together to provide relief to airport employees at Reagan National and Dulles International Airports. The partnership contributed thousands of bottles of water, American Express gift cards, snacks and more to the TSA Food Pantries at each airport.

Project Overview:

The COVID-19 pandemic has presented a new set of challenges to airports and is impacting the lives of the employees who work there. Significantly reduced airline traffic has resulted in far fewer flights, the closures of many shops and restaurants, and has led to furloughed employees across nearly all areas of the airport.

These uncertain times have allowed the value of partnership to shine. After hearing about the efforts from TSA to create a food pantry at both airports, MWAA, MarketPlace and Pepsi sprung into action and combined their efforts to make an impactful donation. Pepsi delivered 30 cases of Aquafina to both Dulles International and Reagan National, while MarketPlace Development kindly donated American Express gift cards to allow for more items to be purchased for the food pantry effort.

”Pepsi is thrilled to come alongside MarketPlace and MWAA to provide some assistance for the employees at the airport during this time. The airport employees have been so supportive and helpful during our partnership, so it’s a joy to be able to give back, even in a small way.”

-Tom Krach, Channel Manager, PepsiCo
